Angles-sur-l'Anglin is one of the 'beaux villages de France' a medieval village in the south-west with beautiful cobbled streets and alley ways, towering castle ruins perched high on a cliff overlooking the river Anglin. The village is famous for its 'Jours d'Angles' lace, its 'Roc au Sorcières' pre-historic caves and museum and its annual book festival in August.

The town itself is rich in facilities: there a number of good restaurants, a few bars and a crêperie, a boulangerie and a small shop, which also serves as a post office, newsagent's and Wi-Fi point. A farmer's market is held almost daily in the village and sells local produce, including fresh vegetables and meat, fruit, homemade jam and regional cheese.
